Arusha, Ngorongoro and Manyara Tour Overview

During this 7-day private tour, you will get the opportunity to climb God’s Mountain, 2962 meters high on Mount Oldonyo Lengai, an active volcano where, on a clear day, you can see the peaks of Kilimanjaro and Meru piercing the horizon to the east. See thousands of flamingos at Lake Natron, then take a safari to the Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. Spending two nights in the Serengeti will give you the best opportunity to see wildlife and see Hadzabe’s residence at Lake Eyasi.

Arusha, Ngorongoro and Manyara Tour Itinerary

Day 1
After picking you up from your lodge or hotel, our driver guide will take you to Tarangire National Park for a picnic lunch and a game drive. Tarangire is well-known for both its abundance of baobab trees and its high population of elephants. It serves as the center of a yearly migration cycle that sees up to 30,000 zebras, 25,000 wildebeests, and 3000 elephants.

Day 2
You'll head toward Lake Natron with your lunchboxes packed. Lake Natron, a strange site and exceptional natural spectacle, is roughly 3.5 hours' journey from Mto Wa Mbu/Manyara. With an average depth of just one meter, its waters are remarkably shallow and extremely alkaline. You'll put on your walking shoes and walk around the shores of Lake Natron with a Maasai tribesman, looking for birds, particularly lesser flamingos, after settling into your campsite and taking a brief break. Up to two million lesser flamingos can be seen in Lake Natron throughout the breeding season, making it the most significant and consistent nesting location in East Africa. Most egg-laying and hatching occurs between September and January. After the hike, you will head back to your lodge.

Day 3
After an early morning breakfast, you will make your way to the Serengeti. The Rift Valley climbs on rugged slopes into the expansive Serengeti grasslands. One of the biggest natural wildlife migration patterns is found in Serengeti National Park. Between the three aforementioned protection zones, about 1.4 million gnus, nearly 300,000 Thomson's gazelles, roughly 200,000 zebras, and thousands of topis migrate annually. With the arrival of the wet seasons, they relocate to verdant places and verdant meadows. Many other animal species, including giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, elephants, and crocodiles, can also be found in the park. The number of feline predators is especially high; approximately 3000 lions, 300 cheetahs, and 400–700 leopards are thought to have a hunting range here.

You will get to see many different wild species along the route, including giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, and lions.

Day 4
You're going to the park for the entire day today. At first light, you'll set out and begin your exploration. You will spend the entire day on a wildlife drive across the stunning Serengeti landscape, looking for the Big Five. After having a nice lunch at the campground, you will go on an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is home to more than just big cats. More than 500 bird species have been identified; these include the enormous ostrich and strange secretary bird seen in wide grasslands, as well as the black eagles that soar effortlessly over the savannah. After continuing your hunt for wildlife in the Serengeti, you will head back to camp for dinner and an overnight stay around dusk. On this particular day, we'll make sure that you track the migration of wildebeests on your tour.

Day 5
This day starts early with a picnic lunch before you drive your 4WD vehicle 2000 feet down to the crater floor to see wildlife. You are going to explore this "Garden of Eden." Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater is a large, profound volcanic crater. Because of the crater's profusion of meadows, marshes, forests, and steady water, the fauna is incredibly varied and numerous.

Day 6
After breakfast, you will drive down the daring track into the crater, where early risers are rewarded with stunning views of the rising sun over the crater's edge. Formed millions of years ago by a catastrophic volcanic explosion, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the most spectacular ecosystem on Earth and one of the Seven Wonders of Africa. It spans over 260 square kilometers and is 610 meters deep. Out of all Tanzanian parks, the crater provides the best game viewing because of its rich animal population, estimated at 25,000.

You can witness wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and a few of the region's more than 500 bird species in a couple of minutes. If you're lucky, you might be able to see the critically endangered black rhinos peeking through the grass.

You will climb the crater's steep walls after lunch and make your way to your campsite for evening and the night.

Day 7
After breakfast, you'll go across the unpaved path to Lake Eyasi, another Rift Valley soda lake. You are going to be there in the afternoon for a cultural exchange with the Tatoga tribe, which is a fascinating culture. The tour will be led by our Tatoga guide in the village. Walking through the arid and untamed landscape, you will discover that a small community of bushmen known as the Hadzabe or Watindiga still call this area home. Like people did 10,000 years ago to survive, these tribes still live in bands, hunt with bows and arrows, and gather wild fruits, tubers, and roots.
